Batu Caves
First discovered over 100 years ago. Batu Caves have never ceased to attract visitors. Formed within the frame work of an imposing limestone outcrop about 400 million years ago. Batu Caves actually consists of three main caves and several smaller ones. The best known of these is Temple or Cathedral Cave. Temple Cave has a ceiling looming over 100 meters overhead and features ornate Hindu shrines. To reach it, one has to climb 272 steps, a feat performed by many Hindu worshippers on the way to the caves to offer prayers to their revered deities. The main event every year is Thaipusam (Hindu festival in honor of Lord Murugan) in January, where up to 800 000 devotees and other visitors throng the caves and make his climb.
To get to Batu Caves, one has to board the LRT to Terminal PUTRA and then take a cab from Gombak Station which will take you directly to Batu Caves.

Bird Park
The Kuala Lumpur Bird Park is the largest bird park in South East Asia. Many species of birds from around the world co-exist in an environment that has been carefully created to resemble their natural habitats. The birds choose their own territory and find their own partners breed and feed in an environment very close to their natural habitat. More than 3000 birds can be seen flying about freely in a well-maintained landscaped area. You can also see the birds amidst tropical foliage, ponds and waterfalls.
The nearest LRT Station is at Pasar Seni. One can take a slow 15 minutes walk from the LRT station or catch a taxi from Pasar Seni Station to get to Bird Park.

China Town
The city is also an excellent hunting ground for shopping buffs. Well-known establishment located along Jalan Bukit Bintang , Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman and Jalan Ampang as well as The Mall, Central Market and KL's Chinatown tantalise visitors with their sheer variety of products and the lure of attractive prices. These areas also throb with the excitement of nightlife and evening entertainment. There is local and western theatre, cultural renditions and even night golfing around the city.
China Town is being refurbished to attract more tourist. Pasar Seni LRT Station is the nearest to China Town. Just take LRT to Pasar Seni Station about 5 minutes walk will take you to China Town.

Istana Negara
Istana Negara, the official residence of the king is located on a hillock at Jalan Istana. The formal grounds is enhanced by immaculate lawns and formal gardens ablaze with blooms.
A lily-filled pond contributes to the serene atmosphere. The palace is also the venue for official functions and ceremonies. On special occasions of national significance, the palace is transformed into a fairytale land of glittering lights.
The nearest LRT Station would be Pasar Seni. It is about 20 minutes walk from Pasar Seni Station to Istana Negara.

KL Tower
Located at Bukit Nanas, this impressive concrete tower is reputed to be the third highest in the world.
It is a distinctive city landmark as it mirrors the Islamic minarets from which calls to prayer are made. The design of the decorative glass windows at the top fo the tower is based on the Muqarnas decoration of the Shah Mosque in Isfahan, Iran.
The nearest LRT Station would be the Dang Wangi Station. It is about 15 minutes walk from the station to get to KL Tower. One can also get a taxi from the LRT Station to get to KL Tower.

KLCC (Kuala Lumpur City Centre)
The beautifully landscaped park at KLCC is the last inspired masterpiece by the versatile and talented Brazilian master of gardens, the late Roberto Burie Marx. Spread over 50 acres (20 hectares), the lush tropical garden provides a haven of tranquility for those seeking a respite from the stress of city life. The KLCC Park is unique in its theme and concept. Designed to showcase a heritage of tropical greenery by integrating man's creation and nature, the beautifully landscaped KLCC Park offers a calm and harmonious environment in the midst of the hustle and bustle of a busy and dynamic city. The park is well interspersed with various amenities such as shelters, benches, rest areas, drinking fountains and public toilets. For health enthusiasts, there is also a 1.3km jogging track encircling the park. Another interesting element of the park is the 43 meter elevated bridge. The centrally located bridge provides visitors with a vantage view of the park and the majestic Petronas twin Towers.
KLCC LRT station is located right below the KLCC Tower. One only needs to take PUTRA Line to get to KLCC.

Merdeka Square
The scene of annual celebration of Independence at the Merdeka Square marks a significant moment in the country's history.
Formerly the venue for cricket, hocket, tennis and rugby matches, the field fronting the Selangor Turf Club has been returfed and transformed into an attractively laid out Square. At the southern end of the Square is the world's tallest flagpole (100m), majestically flying the national flag.
On the turf, a flat round black marble plaque marks the very spot where the Union Jack was lowered at midnight on August 30, 1957 and the Malaysian flag hoisted up for the first time to the resounding cries of "Merdeka".
Pasar Seni Station is the nearest to Merdeka Square. One just have to walk towards to Dayabumi Complex to get to Merdeka Square.

Muzium Negara
The Museum is just outside the Lake Gardens and is a palatial structure built in the style of old Malay architecture. Its imposing entrance is flanked by murals depicting aspects of Malaysian culture and history. Inside are interestingly laid out displays and exhibits on local history, culture and traditions, arts and crafts; economic activities; local flora and fauna; weapons and currency.
Outside are old locomotives, vintage cars and other relics of transport from days gone by. Reconstructed Malay palaces from other parts of the country also grace the expansive grounds.
To get to the Muzium one can easily take the LRT and get off at KL Sentral Station then take taxi from the station to go to Muzium Negara.

Zoo Negara
Also known as Zoo Negara. The place houses some 4,000 species of animals, birds and reptiles while its aquatic world has an impressive aquarium display. The aquarium has an extensive collection of marine and freshwater species. Zoo Negara, Malaysia's Natural Zoo, is a popular attraction especially amongst animal lovers and photographers and a great way to study and understand the animal kingdom. Restaurants, picnic facilities train rides that will take you on a tour around the zoo are also available to members of the public. The National Zoo features a cross - section of Malaysia's wildlife.
PUTRA Line Feeder Buses provide shuttle service every half an hour beginning at 9.30 am and ends at 7.00 pm to Zoo Negara. every Sundays and Public Holidays only from Wangsa Maju Station.
